Why would you take something like that apart if you’re not going to make any notes about how it works or anything? Yes, very nice photos, but I could learn as much about how the PSP works by smashing one with a hammer. Nice idea, shame about there being no point.

Fantastic guide to taking a psp apart, lots of people have psp,s with faulty screens or other parts .I have bought two faulty ones from ebay to fix up one has a faulty wifi the other has a faulty umd drive this will help me loads to get these apart properly and working properly again .If people have a faulty psp and the repair is to expensive this will be a large help to fix it yourself .Thanks for this .

My PSP won’t come to life when I push the power buton, the power light comes on for about 15 seconds and then goes off again. I have noticed that quite a few guys are having the same problem. Do you know what the problem is and how can I fix it? Many thanks. Terry

To all the guys whose lights come on then go off 15 seconds later, chances are your PSP is “bricked”… meaning it’s now as useful as a brick.

We get everything on this site from our own personal stash of electronics, and to all the people who say that there is no point, once and for all, we take it apart and show pictures to help others who dont want to take chances damaging their own expensive electronics.

I liked the fact that you have an entire website devoted to this… excellent work and if you could try to take apart a flatscreeen television that would help, thanks!

Timothy, it is you fault you decided to void your warranty and rip open your PSP. Try not to be an asshole to everyone.

I know this is mostly common sense, but, and I don’t know if there is such a disclaimer, but, this site should have one that reads “Takeitapart.net is not responsible for any damage, displeasure, and/or anger or frustration that results from thes looks into the inner workings of these subjects. We STRONGLY recommend that you DO NOT dismantle your product, as doing so may result in non-functionality (the device not working), or anger. If you decide to take your device apart, you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK.”
