That’s just removing the casing. That’s not disassembling the unit itself. Pretty lame to be honest. Be more daring!
hey man, disassembling is disassembling, there are times when I dont completely disassemble something because i still need to use it, or i only have to remove something from under the casing. We at the site appreciate anything our users submit to us! Look in the user submitted section and you will find much simpler submissions than this. I dont mind the suggestion to be a little more daring, but it isnt to cool to call someone elses submission lame.
Thanks to those photos and descriptions, I got my face changed on my phone. Good Looking and thanks!
is thjis thing really serious because am crazy about it the the extent of opening my phone.so big ups
You tryed but that is not disassembling
i need a new light sensor for this unit, anyone have?
maybe you can also show the people how to remove the display, this is pretty easy if you know how to do it,if not you can break some plastic parts of it.and also how to take out the print ad parts like the speaker, mic and vibration device
got dust inside the display. anybody knows if screen can be taken off lcd display to clean?
I got the same problem as Dan could anyone help in this matter plz? i got dust + couple of scratches.
dan, yep the lcd inside is not glued or anything. Simply disconnect lcd connector, remove those 2 screws on the screen frame, take lcd apart from the frame.
Thanks a lot, you helped me!

just an ordinary change in housing…it should not like this….i agree with lame man…
how and where can i replace the mic. got the mic.
Thank you for your help
All of the screws are T-6, the other size (the lower one holding the display)is a T-4
The instructions above dont tell you very well that the connector holding the display is very small, and is on the left side of the display when looking at it. Be Gentle and pry with your fingernail (rocking back and forth) and it comes off in one piece (square + Ribbon + Dispay). It is the square portion and has the small ribbon connector from it to the display. Dont try to remove the center piece (chrome in color).
I was fortunate to have been given a E61 and swapped the case and display from a E62 I have. Now I have a faster device and was able to swap displays as the E61’s was a little scratched.
COOL. That Phone looks alot like a black berry
Drauf geschissen was andere hier sagen, mir hat die Anleitung geholfen!!! Danke ….
I just finished cleaning the dust from the display of my E-61. I needed T4 and T6 Torx bits, plus a camera dust brush, and lint free antistatic cloth (for cleaning glasses). For those in Australia Dick Smith has a phone repair tool for $8.95 with the torx bits (T6335). Many thanks for this article.
ihave a joystick that is stuck going left is there any thing i can do?
thank you,
Thanks for posting this. The information I need is not really posted, though: I need to know how to get through the 4th and 5th images in the set above. In other words, I’ve already removed the 4 torx screws — that part was obviously required — but there’s some resistance when I try pulling up on the back casing (as pictured in image #5).
In the picture, a Swiss army knife screwdriver is being used; I’m using a similar tool. But this casing doesn’t want to budge; I fear it’s going to break…
thanks a lot!!! with all this info I was able to replace the lcd screen.
Hello Harold, you have to put some thin tool, e. g. a flat-headed screwdriver, between the (silver) cover and the other (dark-grey) part of the phone at similar position as it is shown on the picture. Then you’d try to carefully lever the cover, until it goes up a bit so you can carefully take it apart. My screwdriver was a little to thick and left some scratches but it didn’t seem to break that easily…
The instructions were very helpful in replacing my lcd yesterday. Just a couple of notes on the procedure. Remove the T6 that holds the top part of the lcd bracket and don’t touch the two t4 screws that hold the bottom of the lcd bracket. By removing the screw at the top you till be able to lift the lcd bracket up enough to slide the lcd display out and the new one in. Thank you
Thanks.You make my day!Finally my Nokia E 61is mine.
Dude, great instruction! I just took my E61i apart and cleaned out 3 yrs worth of muck. If ever I want to replace any parts, I now know how to get started.
I still think these devices are classics. I have not seen an all-metal device with decent qwerty since (e71 /72 are just to small to be comfortable). The mail-for-exchange sync to my snelbij.nl (www.snelbij.nl for you dutchies) push-mail service is costing me a lot of battery time, though.
Thanx again for the excellent contribution!
