I had to take a controller apart so I clicked on this link. First of all, no narration. Which wouldn’t be too bad if the screws in the remote were not special screws. I never saw anything like them. They are like a three prong version of a phillips screw. I was able to get my controller apart with a very small flat blade (eye glass type), but I am sure the flat blade has to be just the right size. This video just shows someone removing the screws as if there is nothing to it. They are very small and if you don’t look real close, you will think they are phillips and probably spend 10 minutes trying to figure out the problem. If the guy who did this video happened to have a special “Wiimote” screwdriver, you think he MIGHT want to mention that.
I actually sense an arrogance in this video. Almost as if the guy is trying to say, “LOOK, it’s easy you morons”.
Some explaination of how and why you have to stick the screwdriver into the sides may also be useful and last but not least, there are many tiny parts (mostly buttons) that will fall right out if you are not careful. There is no indication of trying to be careful or take it a little slow if you don’t want to mar the outside of your remote or lose a small part on the floor.
