This is a nice phone, so if you’re squeemish, close your eyes, this is gonna get ugly.
Take off the back battery plate, a common first step.
Take the battery out too, another common step.
You might want to take the SIM card out now.
Lets deal with the antennae, unscrew it at the cap, slide out, then take out the metal casing found inside the battery compartment.
To reveal a hidden screw, you must find its secret hiding place. Real cool, Nextel…
Now is the time to take out all of those screws sitting on the back of the phone. Do it.
Take out those little buttons now as well, but be careful not to put too much pressure on the two case halves when doing this.
Now, be very careful and disconnect the cable holding the two haves together.
Good, you’re almost there. Separate the two halves now.
Unscrew all visible screws, then, using the screwdriver as a wedge, seperate the two PCBs from the front half by removing the ribbon cable holding them together.
Now you can seperate the two PCBs with a littl wdge placed between the two metal pieces where the two PCBs connect.
Get that rubber stuff out of there!
Take the buttons out.
Don’t do this! It’s bad.
Do this. Take a large flathead screwdriver and wedge it where shown, if done correctly, ou can squeeze the joint right out.
These parts should come right out.
I did not disassemble the screen. In order to do so, I wouldve had to fight adhesive, which is a battle adhesive always wins… The end.
