Scott, the white faceplate is just another part of the front shell piece. It doesn’t come off. It’s just painted a different color, but it’s all one piece

Jeff, I have personally taken apart a guitar hero controller and have taken off the white faceplate. There are little screws around the outline of the white faceplate on the inside.

In a separate thought, do you have any idea on what triggers star power when you tilt the controller up, I am puzzled.

the white face does come off, I have personally taken it off. You can see in the pictures tiny screws going along the outline on the inside of the guitar

    Hi,
my son is having a problem with his explorer guitar where it cuts out while playing the game on his 360. It seems to be a cable prob because if you move the cable around a bit it reconnects. We have tried the USB connection and swopped that part over but no better so i think it where it bends slightly before going into the guitar. Have you any advice on how to disconnect this cable and to reconnect it back to the guitar so he can have a better connection. Thanks.
