I’ve been looking everywhere for a guide to take apart a controller, but no one shows how to take apart the plug casing that is on the end of the cord (the part that you plug into the system). I to take it apart for some repairs and I dont want to break the plastic. Any ideas??

The crap in the cup is the plastic lubricant, which always wore off of the N64 controllers.

Just about to paint my controllers. Ordered the Screwdriver for the n64 and up to this part now. Any way of getting the part that plugs into the n64 out on the end of the controller. I would like to paint that also. Gonna paint both either Blue Or Orange. we’ll see

the stuff in the cup is actually a powder lubricant for the control stick. that the stuff that STOPS it from sticking.
