TakeItApart.net is all about, well, taking things apart.

It exists to satisfy anyone who might wonder, “Hey, I wonder what’s inside this thing,” or, “So how does this thing work, exactly?.” It was made so we can show folks what the heck everyday gadgets look like on the inside, and how to take things apart. Curiosity is the primary reason we made it. We feel the disassembly guides are a bit one-sided, however.

TakeItApart.net is the creation of RIT student Christopher Tomkins-Tinch, and good friend Brandon Kimball. It serves as a platform for documenting the disassembly of electronic and other devices. Disassembly guides exist so average users can better understand and maintain their electronic devices. Removing dust from the inside of a gadget is one such task that having a TakeItApart guide may help with.

Started in February of 2006, TakeItApart.net is still growing. Look forward to new content and have fun while you’re here.
